Native Heart Gourd Art & Pine Needle Baskets

Having an artistic side ever since a child, creating with my hands has always been a passion. Color and design provide an outlet for the inner creative passion to be fulfilled. Gourd art allows the extension of the creative to be expressed with not only carving and designing but also in many colorful ways and through the application of Pyrography. Whether its distinct precise lines to styles of primitive expression of our ancestors.

Gourd art is expressed in hand carved and colorful candle holders, stylized gourd lamps, gourd bowls, and a gourd butterfly that flies from a chain – gourd art provides an opportunity to express oneself in many different ways.

My artist statement would read: “Nature provides the canvas for my artistic passions through gourd vessels that display my creativity.”
